The conventional curing method for subway bolts is atmospheric-pressure steam curing, which typically involves four stages: pre-curing (Y), temperature rise (S), constant-temperature curing (H), and cooling.
Currently, the main issues with the steam-curing process for metro tunnel segments include: insufficient heat exchange within the curing chamber during heating, which can easily lead to non-uniform heating across different parts of large segments; low steam energy utilization and high energy consumption; and the common practice of linear temperature rise during steam curing—i.e., increasing the temperature at a fixed rate until the target temperature is reached—which results in prolonged curing times.
